Ok, grab a new recovery from the same place. Flash it.

adb reboot recovery
adb shell
# start autoupdate
Plug the flash in, keep your eye on the blinky LED on the flash (it has one?)
There could be as much as 5 minutes of non-blinking.
If it reboots by itself things are probably good.
If it doesn't reboot, reattach PC cable.
