I recently discovered this great plugin. I've made several attempts to understand how it works so I can install and use it. Unfortunately, I haven't been successful.
I'm older, read just over 70 books a year on a PocketBook eReader, and have absolutely no talent for anything even remotely related to programming. To make matters worse, I don't speak English well (this text was also translated using Google Translate).
I've read the first 15 and the last three pages of the 57 pages of this forum. However, I still don't understand what data I need to enter to track my reading progress and what results I get.
Above all, I don't understand how "my" reading progress (the last page I've read) gets into Calibre. I don't see any way to transfer it directly from my eReader. However, it wouldn't be a problem to enter it manually either.

I know that my method of data entry isn't practical and that I'm entering a lot of data multiple times. However, this has gradually developed. I tried to divide the information into individual columns and have the desired values calculated directly in Calibre. However, despite repeated attempts over the years, I haven't been able to do this.

The data entered in Calibre is divided as follows:
• Date column for the start date of reading. After finishing the book, this is replaced by the end date.
• Column for the number of words in the book determined directly by PageCount
• Column for the number of pages in the book determined directly by PageCount
• A "combination column" predefined by default values, consisting of entered values that are gradually entered and changed.

Below are three examples of how this column is structured.

Default (initial) value of the column:
{Book zzz 📖 p. | 📱eP. | zzz ⁍ eP.| yyyyy ⁍🎤 | –'🎧} [﹤ xxx =xxx >xxx | Text [=xx] xxx eP.] (read 00% | !xxx d. | ° eP./d.)

Example: Book Finished
I enter the following information in a Calibre column:
{Book 336 📖 p. | 313📱eP. | 323 ⁍ eP.| 96360 ⁍🎤 | –'🎧} [﹤ 7 =307 >307 | Text 301 eS.] (read 100% | 10 days | 30 eS./day)

Example: Book not finished
{Book 352 📖 p. | 285📱eS. | 333 ⁍ eS.| 89656 ⁍🎤 | –'🎧} [﹤ 9 =103 >276 | Text [=95] 268 eS.] (read 35% | 6 days | 15 eS./day)

Key to the individual parts:
• {Book 352 📖 p. ≙ Publisher's information on the number of pages in the paper edition of the book
• | 285📱eS. ≙ Total page count determined by my PocketBook.
• | 333 ⁍ eS. ≙ Number of pages determined by PageCount (also in a separate column)
• | 89656 ⁍🎤 ≙ Number of words determined by PageCount (also in a separate column)
• | 3 days: 1h 53', 73h 53', 4433'🎧} ≙ Length as an audiobook in three different formats
• [﹤ 9 ≙ First page of text* (*including foreword and/or afterword)
(I add the number of pages from endnotes, notes, references, glossary, etc. (often estimated) to the page number of the text.)
• =103 ≙ page up to which I have read*
• >276 ≙ last page read* of the text (*including preface and/or afterword, if read)
• | Text [=95] ≙ Number of pages of the "read" text (including *+§)
• 268 eS.] ≙ Number of pages of the text to be read (including *+§)
• (read 35% ≙ Percentage of the read portion of the book
• | 16 days ≙ The number of days it took me to read the book (for short texts, in fractions [x/16 day = 24h-8h sleep]
• | °15 eS./day) ≙ Pages read per day
* ≙ *incl. foreword and/or afterword, images, graphics, maps, etc. (if read) are counted
§ ≙ Any page count from endnotes, comments, references, glossary, etc. (often estimated) is added.
