As others have pointed out, there is an official kobo store on amazon.

As to prices, I have seen higher prices on ereaders from other manufacturers on their official amazon stores, maybe to pay amazon's cut or to encourage buying elsewhere and the storefront exists only to satisfy demand from people that want to buy from amazon to avoid sketchy retailers or because amazon is the only realistic source in their location.
