I read mostly on my Sage but I will read on another Kobo ereader and the Kobo app on my iOS devices or Android tablet. For the most part, I find that searching for a phrase from the last bit of text I read on my Sage is easier than remembering to sync my Sage to update the reading progress for Kobo purchased & synced ebooks before leaving the house.

Years back, I did play with a tool that allowed syncing progress for all books on your Kobo but it was never all that usable and if I wanted it to work outside my home, I had to set up a port forward to allow the connection which is a bit of a security hazard. The person responsible for the code disappeared from SourceForge when his real life job didn't leave him the spare time to work on it and so the project went to the great bitbucket in the sky.
