And yet it's the main advantage of Kindle over Kobo for many, many people, as seen from the many, many posts here.
As for reading the same book on different devices, I do it all the time. I just find my place manually, as I don't want to keep wifi on on my ereaders. But for lots of people, automatic syncing of the reading progress between different devices is an important aspect of their reading life.
Yes, Pocketbook offers the same service as STK, but this seems to be virtually unknown to people reading in English. Most of them think only Amazon offers it.
