Jon; I suffer from an eye condition called keracotonus (KC) which is basically cone shaped eyes. This leads to severe astigmatism and the standard approach to it the use of rigid-gas-permeable contact lenses (RGP).
KC also leads to thinning of the cornea at the tip of the cone which can lead to tearing of the cornea.
This coupled with the fact I've had cataract surgery on both eyes and the loss of vision in the right eye due to complications from treatment for floaters related to diabetic retinopathy makes the fitting of glasses a real challenge.
