Hi, could it be that the kindle-5.4-jailbreak.zip needs an build update for the developer.keystore fix:

I have an PW1/EY21 with 5.4.4.2, but the "Update Your Kindle" menue point stays grey.
I could not use newer jailbreaks because PW1 did not support newer FW.
