What can I do to fix this?
If you have The Extended Edition plugin configured to back up the Kobo DB, You could copy that (it is manual) back to the Kobo

Log out of your Kobo, then log back in.
That message is about the DB on the Kobo.
In either case, you might lose recent bookmarks or reading location.
