The point with Kindle for PC was that we already knew that books from version 2.4.1 and later would not work with DeDRM regardless of publication date. So you're currently out-of-luck for the Kindle for PC method with books that cannot be downloaded to 2.4.0.

We did not know whether a newer version of Kindle firmware would also have newer KFX DRM that DeDRM cannot handle on all books. Now we know that at least previously published books are fine. I would guess that newly published books would be fine too, but it will be nice to get that confirmed.
