Pre-dinner win.
One friend of mine is unhappy. The store where he purchased male chicks as food for an owl rescue he volunteers with is no longer selling them due to screams about the chicks being killed. So now they will be killed and ground up instead.
Basically, egg laying chicken breeds need very few roosters so the male chicks are sorted out at ~ one day old and disposed of.
