The texts are from different sources, but all novels, stories, and poems have been proofed against early (mostly first) editions and thousands of mistakes were corrected, except for the uncollected poems which weren’t available anywhere, so I scanned and corrected them myself. I have checked the formatting of the plays, the travel and the non-fiction writings and made sure they have their italics. As the courage of the Italian printer of the first edition of
Lady Chatterley’s Lover was bigger than his English spelling skills, that novel was proofed against the 1993 Cambridge edition.
There are the usual inline tables of contents, links after each text or image to get back to the respective tables, and indexes of the stories and poems.
Hidden in the code you can find (if you delete “display: none;” from the <ins> and/or <del> elements in the stylesheet) possible emendations and page numbers.
This epub includes everything that was published in book form before 1972 except the letters.
I have no idea if he’s still around, but this one’s for Spinni.
Best regards,
pynch.
