I have a few criteria I consider when buying a book:

- is it an auto-buy author? Then I'll generally pay full price under $10, over $10 I'll wait for a sale or get it from the library
- is it available from the library or Kindle Unlimited? If so, read it from there first, then decide if I want to buy (I do re-read fairly frequently but I'm trying to reduce my purchases somewhat)
- did I read the book elsewhere and liked it enough to re-read, or it wasn't available from KU or library? If yes and under $10 buy, preferably using reward points
- if none of the above and over $10 (or often $6,) probably don't buy.
