Question Kindle Touch (2011) WiFi has no MAC address after discharge

Greetings,

I've a Kindle Touch which I've had since 2012, it's worked very well until last week when the battery had discharged completely. I recharged it to find that it wouldn't connect to my WiFi - or any WiFi for that matter. When I scan for WiFi it sticks in a loop and the wifi list is empty. Previously I saw mine + many neighbour's.

Digging into it, I notice that the unit reports it has no WiFi MAC address. This is known to happen after a discharge: https://uk.amazonforum.com/s/questio...ss-unavailable

Is there any way of fixing this, or is my KT for the scrapheap? I disassembled my KT but found no separate WiFi module to replace.

Kind regards,
RTG
