Depends on your country / library. The local library will tell you. Some only work to read in a particular app, or may work via ADE (intended for PCs here in Ireland).
Our Public Library does use 3 systems, and none of it works easily with Kindle or Kobo or Linux. Android works, but the Android eink stopped working due to dependencies not supported.
