Metal buttons on the x50 series. Mostly plastic buttons on the 505 (except maybe for the big multi-directional buttons at the bottom appear to be metal). Looks like the 300 is the same as the 505, but I'm beginning to think that even the big buttons might be plastic. Whatever they're made with they seem to hold up well.
