That was by design in the KFX Output plugin (nothing to do with the KFX Input plugin). It prevents the issue where going online has Kindle deleting ebooks that use the EBOK cdetype and an valid ASIN for a book that Amazon says you do not have access to. You can change that in the conversion output settings for the KFX Output plugin.
