I think your setup looks good, with Koreader and then doing long press to access the dictionary. Likewise how you switch from app to app without going to home screen. When I was reading, I used to use GoldenDict. May I ask why you opted for aard2? It looks really good. I didn't know of the options.
After reading your review, I thought first that maybe the ghosting you describe would be better on Palma 2, but I googled and see many say nope. Which makes me consider BigMe more seriously.
