From a brief look at the readme, it looks like the sending feature uses
https://send.djazz.se, which is an open source tool hosted by
djazz. You can use the service without the app, or self-host it yourself.
One thing to note about this companion app it that it seems to be designed for
Calibre-Web, which is different than Calibre, and is designed for self-hosting.
