Got my first new Kindle in almost a decade this morning, a brand new Colorsoft Signature, and immediately after sign-in/registration, got an auto-update before I could jb.
Tried 900 things to dodge it, but finally decided I'd let it do the awful. After updating, it's on 5.18.*0*.1! I can winterbreak!
There is still hope! The OOB auto-update doesn't seem to push 5.18.1 yet!
