Interesting interview. I liked his stated support for taking books in and out of the ecosystem, although it still kinda danced around the DRM issue. Which I suppose I understand--he can't risk upsetting his publishers.
I guess that's the closest we'll ever get to an explicit wink or nod from Kobo that they're not gonna do the cat-and-mouse game like Amazon of changing the DRM every time someone breaks it? I dunno.
I do wish the host had asked about cloud syncing for sideloaded books, since that's the number one thing that holds back adoption from Kindle refugees, IMO.
