Dry bag just means no anticoagulant in the bag so the donated blood has a very limited life time. Basically from the blood donor clinic to the hospital and into the recipients veins. In this case, a Rh+ baby who was being born to a Rh- negative mother who had a previous pregnancy with a Rh+ child. These days there are treatments so the mother does not develop the antibodies.
