But the hack will not prevent OTA silent updates when 3G kicks in.

I'm using a Kindle 3 Keyboard that has 3G and Wifi (B006).

The steps I did post JB/MKK/KUAL:

1. Copy the backdoorlock folder into my extensions directory.
2. Lock the back door.
3. Check status (showed it was locked).
4. Enabled Online Connection, and once 3G kicked in the silent update happened and I could no longer use KUAL until I re-applied the MKK update.

I also tried doing it with the update_backdoorlock_12_k3g_install.bin but it didn't make a difference.

I'm not sure if something has changed and so far I'm trying to avoid going down the SSH path to edit the hosts file, or opening the unit to remove the 3G module / antenna. I'm also not sure if this hack prevents Wifi updates as well as there hasn't been a lot of chatter in that topic in recent times.

Thank you for any help you can provide as I only need the connection to sent books via Wifi from Calibre.
