I decided to try WinterBreak my Colorsoft prior to updating the firmware from 5.18.0.1 to 5.18.1 since it will no longer be possible afterward, at least for now.

I am having trouble getting KUAL to install under MRPI. I tried two different versions and neither appears to recognize my device. Here is the relevant info from the mrinstaller log file:


Package 'Update_KUALBooklet_18b218e_install.bin' (KUALBooklet 18b218e I) is not targeting your device [10A6 vs. 11 (followed by a long list of numbers)

Package 'Update_KUALBooklet_ALLDEVICES_KS2_install.bin' (KUALBooklet ALLDEVICES KS2 I) is not targeting your device [10A6 vs. 11 (followed by a long list of numbers)


The jailbreak and hotfix appear to have worked so I believe it would be safe to update my firmware. But I am reluctant to do something that cannot be undone before this problem is resolved.

I would appreciate any information on whether I am doing something wrong or if KUAL simply does not support some recent Kindle models.
