I don't mind the trillion settings of KOReader. I do mind the absence of metadata-based library management tools (as I too have thousands of ebooks), but mainly KOReader gives me really nothing I can't get with the patched stock. I don't need most of its style overrides and I care nothing about reading stats. So using KOReader wouldn't add many benefits for me. Yes, syncing would be nice, but I can manage without it perfectly well. I'm not sure I could be bothered with constantly fiddling with wifi on/off anyway. Probably not.
