Looks interesting, so I downloaded as azw3 to my old Kindle which has no payment method. Has 1c credit. Occasionally I send that account a gift card, or "gift" a Kindle ebook to the account, but that doesn't seem to work for pre-orders. A pre-order seems to need a payment method and can't be "gifted".
