it's a bit selfish to open a separate topic for this; i hope you don't mind. i'm not a regular on the forum, and the last 3 years seem to have many new jailbraking techniques available which weren't before. i have used this kindle for 7 years now and it has never been online. the firmware is 5.9.2.0.1 and this is what it came with, but at the time it just wasn't possible to jailbreak from this version. serial number starts with G000 K905. I'm pretty happy with it, but would like to try KOReader for the ability to turn the text upside down in portrait mode so the power button is on the top. it's the only feature i'm missing. could you point me in the right direction? i'm technical enough to follow a tutorial, but the thing is picking the right one to follow? (without an afternoon of forums reading) wouldn't want to mess it up, it's my favourite electrical device of any kind. it's as close to the perfect device as it gets for me. it's still fast. the paperwhite i had and lost before was much slower and 167 ppi is enough for me at 90-110 cm viewing distance.
