These volumes include 107 texts by the Author of “A Mere Man“, Aubrey Beardsley, Max Beerbohm, Mathilde Blind, Bliss Carman, Edward Carpenter, Sarojini Chattopâdhyây, Joseph Conrad, Hubert Crackanthorpe, Olivier Georges Destrée, Rudolf Dircks, Ernest Dowson, Osman Edwards, Havelock Ellis, Edmund Gosse, John Gray, Ford Madox Hueffer, Selwyn Image, Humphrey James, Lionel Johnson, Cesare Lombroso, Leila Macdonald, Fiona Macleod, Stéphane Mallarmé, Roman Mathieu-Wierzbinski, Jean Moréas, George Morley, New Writer, Vincent O’Sullivan, Joseph Pennell, Edgar Prestage, Ernest Rhys, O. Shakespear, G. Bernard Shaw, Arthur Symons, Edith M. Thomas, Emile Verhaeren, Paul Verlaine, François Villon, Frederick Wedmore, Theodore Wratislaw, and W. B. Yeats, and 104 images by Aubrey Beardsley, Max Beerbohm†, William Blake, Jacques E. Blanche, Jacques L. Blanche, Botticelli, Ph. Caresme, Charles Conder, Mabel Dearmer, Ch. Eisen, William T. Horton, Fred Hyland, J. Lemmen, W. B. Macdougall, Phil May, J. McNeill Whistler, Louis Oury, Joseph Pennell, D. G. Rossetti, W. Rothenstein, F. Sandys, Charles H. Shannon, Walter Sickert, Albert E. Sterner, T. R. Way, and A. Kay Womrath.

The texts are sourced from the Yellow Nineties 2.0 website. I have fully compared them with scans of the books and corrected hundreds of mistakes. The images were newly produced from the scans and their contrast optimized.

There are the usual inline tables of contents, links after each text or image to get back to the respective tables, and indexes of the authors, artists, texts, and images.

Hidden in the code you can find (if you delete “display: none;” from the <ins> and/or <del> elements in the stylesheet) possible emendations and page numbers.

All authors and artists are in the public domain, according to my research—with one notable exception: Max Beerbohm’s text and three images had to be omitted and will be included in an update on January 1, 2027. That day will also see the return of his writings here on MR, but grown considerably from 847 to 3297 pages.

Best regards,
pynch.
