I’ve already tested in default theme and language, see P1. For me, it’s only happening in v8.0+. System: macOS 15.3.2, calibre 8.0.1
As the dock icons, since already decide to get them framed, I suggest rotating the inside original icon until the edge of the book parallel to the outside frame’s edge. Because now it’s produce some kind of
“Induced tilt illusion”, it makes the icon frame seem tilted to clockwise. (P2, P3) Just for looking better, honestly it’s not a big deal. Users still can overwrite the icon in information window.
As for Tag browser partitioning, yeah I know it’s not calibre 8 ’s issue, it just came to mind while talking about alphabetical sorting.
