When my doctor wants me to have some blood tests done, he uses a butterfly needle. Having to visit a pathology centre for someone to do what any doctor can do is a racket… fortunately both my current GP and the previous one recognise this.
Different if it's regular and frequent. When I was on warfarin (rat poison) I had to have fortnightly, sometimes weekly, blood tests - drove me nuts and bananas. I'm on a different medication now, one that doesn't require regular blood tests.
For those who don't know a 'cardiac echo' is an ultrasound image of the heart, I have one coming up in a couple of months.
