Demonopolise eReaders, make them interoperable by syncing with other online libraries

Hi all

I'd like to make a suggestion for some plugins which would mean that any eReader supported by KOReader could read books from any online library.

The author Cory Doctorow and others have suggested that one way to demonopolise big tech is by making different services work with one another, interoperability.

The clearest monopolies within eReaders is by Amazon only allowing Kindles to sync with your Kindle library, Kobo only allowing you to sync with the Kobo library etc.

I would like to request plugins which would allow KOReader to sync with any of the big online libraries. This could have additional side benefits like giving people with accessibility needs other ways of accessing their ebooks and different viewing options.

Obviously there may be issues with DRM but at least Google Play Books allows you to upload ebooks without DRM and some online stores sell ebooks without DRM.

The largest ebook retailers appear to be:

1. Google Play Books
2. Kindle
3. Kobo

Thanks very much
