I was unsure about the VIP programme. But you CAN use discount codes to get it, so you can probably find at least a 30% code that works, taking it down to £4. So you only need to buy more than £40 of non-price-matched books in the year to make it worthwhile.
I'm hoping to get enough VIP points to use them to renew next year.
And I'm also working my way through my first £70 for £60 gift-card offer, although I'm not including that discount in my price calculations, although perhaps I should.
Having a good balance in my Kobo account does make price-matching less hassle. It goes out and then a lot of it comes back in.
