Out of curiosity I renamed the .kinf2024 file to .kinf2018 and attempted to extract the credentials from it using the latest DeDRM alpha release. As expected it failed with the error "Couldn't decrypt file." So .kinf2024 definitely has a new layout that DeDRM does not currently handle.
That change, along with the new DRM algorithms present in Kindle for PC 2.4.1 and later, shows that Amazon is taking a multi-layered approach to hardening Kindle DRM.
