I can fall asleep at the drop of a hat, but staying asleep long is a life-long battle. I'll often get up too early, have coffee and toast then go back to bed. The coffee presents no impediment. Still, I only usually get an extra hour out of that.

I often wake up in the middle of sleep too. As I don't have a fixed work schedule, I usually read something on my phone (Wikipedia articles, for example) until I feel sufficiently drowsy to fall asleep again. I only sleep uninterrupted when I'm very tired.
But the border between sleeping and waking is pretty sharp for me. I never fall asleep reading, for example. Actually it takes some effort for me to fall asleep at all - I've never been the type who just dozes off whenever.
And if I'm worried about something, I'll sleep very badly.
