Yes, and it's a stupid WWI UK/German invention. It needs to stop, but it can't in EU till UK agrees, because of the British border on the Island of Ireland.
In theory there is EU agreement to scrap it. Irish Standard Time oddly is GMT+1, but during the winter we have IST-1, so it always seems like Ireland & UK are the same zone.
Look where Spain and Portugal are vs UK & Ireland. Then Iceland doesn't bother with Summer Time as they are too far north and the day changes far more. Countries closer to Tropics don't either, because the day doesn't change much.
