I found this: https://forum.qt.io/topic/131922/can...d-with-qt-apps. It is about Linux but the Mac might have a similar problem.

Of possible interest: on my Windows machine, in step 8 I see "Num+8", not "Num8". If you really saw "Num8" then that is part of the problem because "Num8" isn't a valid key.
