Problems with Kindle collections
I have long had two separate problems with collections on my Kindle E Ink readers. If anyone can offer a solution to either (or both), I'd be very grateful.
1. Assigning books to collections
I assign fiction books to collections on the basis of their status. Books therefore get moved from Unread to Partly read and then to Read (or Abandoned) as I read them. However, there are some - about 450 - that refuse to stay in the Read collection. I assign them to it, but they then get moved out next time I synchronise. This seems to happen whether or not the device is connected to Wi-Fi at the time I assign the books to that collection. These are all books that I read several years ago: I haven't noticed this problem with books that I've read in recent years. As a workaround, I've created another collection (called Finished), and assigned to books in question to it. They stay there, but it's rather inelegant to have two collections that serve the same purpose. I find the need for it incomprehensible.
2. Library tab
The Library tab is set to sort by title ascending, and to show collections in list view. In Settings/Home and Library/Library tab, I have Group series turned off, Collections set to "Show favourites" and Audible set to "Show only when filtered" (in any case, I don't have any Audible books). So why do collections that are not marked as favourites appear in the Library view?
