I ordered something for my 94 year old mother, so be delivered to her apartment, which is in a secure building. The small package was left on the ground, on the outside of building door that leads to the common hallway.
That door is very heavy, and locks automatically when closed, so you need a key if you're outside. I was able to call a neighbor of hers, who got the package and knocked on her door to get it to her. She would not have been able to get the package herself without danger of falling as the step at that door is rather deep. It's a good thing I don't order for her often. Amazon drivers must not have access to the inside of the secure buildings. Mail and UPS are able to get inside.
