The Kindle Store has over 275,000 titles available, but with the introduction of the Kindle DX and its support of PDF files it means that 600,000 public domain titles from Google Books just became available as well.

(Not that we should change the focus of this thread -- I'm just pointing out another rich source of books that are now available).
