I use Amazon (regular) for more than books. That section will get less visit (and probably 0 purchases).
I seriously recommend that you DON'T delete your account. You lose all that you had. on their servers.
Just go inactive. remove account info from your device to stop purchases from there. (BUT remember those details if you need to put it back)
