I just canceled my two promo memberships, at US and UK, and they didn't offer me a sufficient incentive to re-up.
I'm assuming the books can be downloaded to a computer, which would mean the files can be converted and kept. I hope someone tries it and reports back.

Both Audible US and Audible UK offered me three months at half-price, and I accepted both. Library has become essentially useless now, so I'm stuck with Audible.
