So, in its current state of "stuck trying to auto-update" does that ColorSoft export its storage when you connect it to you computer? Or at any point between forcing a reboot and getting stuck where it gets stuck?

If it DOESN'T do that how do you expect to copy over that future firmware update bin file to that Kindle device?

Your problems with getting stuck isn't down to nothing new for ColorSoft to download from Amazon's servers it's because something tried to run missing OTA binary file and doesn't handle the error correctly, something like that.

If the device isn't visible to your computer then that ColorSoft is a permanent brick, nothing can be done to fix it.

@HackerDude What is the state of various elements of "jailbreak bridge" system of scripts after user does a factory reset?
Is bridge.conf still there and does that Upstart job even run?
If it runs and checks for existence of "emergency.sh" then that script could? potentially be used to undo the ota binaries rename. Provided that device is able to add emergency.sh file while in that soft-bricked state.
Should've been more clear in my initial post. I am able to connect the kindle to my pc just fine and drag and drop files, including the .bin to update it, but the issue is that there is no firmware on Amazon's website for the colorsoft to update it with.

Is there something else I can use/do to the kindlekindle to get remove the update blocker?

I can go through all the basic setup for the device, but I always gets stuck at downloading the update and asks me to try again
