Kobo has either epub or ACSM downloads.
The epub are DRM free and nothing to do with ADE.
The ACSM are small text files to redeem the ebook via Adobe. The ACSM expire in a few hours.

They should be used at once and deACSMed for DRM free ebooks because DRM is evil and the Adobe servers might fail, or you might have no internet.
