All books are sideloaded epubs.
Tried powering off on - no effect.
May go back to calibre and delete from device and reload.

Tried that - no effect.
Will continue reading this book on kindle because the story is very good then go back to using the kono.
If anyone has any suggestions as to why one book is slow please post here.
I will keep looking here. Thanks.
So a "broken" epub. The kindle Mobi is only HTML3 and only limited inline styles. An epub is HTML5 and CSS3 (approximately).

Open the epub in Calibre Editor and check it. Two checkers can be installed.

EDIT:
Unless it's a K1, K2, DX or DXG, it can update to 3.x.x something and have hugely better azw3 than rubbish mobi format. I upgraded my K3 Keyboard and it's fine for what it it with azw3.
