The Onyx batteries that I know are pretty thin, 2.5 mm, 1/10"
I can't say how this compares to Kindles.
Look at the part number of the battery. Does it start with "25"?

I replaced my Poke3 battery with one that I had lying around.
It was thicker and the back cover did not fit back on.
I left the back cover off since the plastic cradle of the book cover covered it anyway.
That was a bit sub-optimal because it's not really a seal.

But my Poke3 is the backup for the Poke5 which is the backup for the Go6.
