Kobo GLO N613 refusing to discharge full battery after fully draining once
Hi everyone, I'm unsure if this is the correct place to post asking for help, I posted this in a different form but realized this is likely the correct form but please let me know if there's a different forum specifically. I reported the previous thread to ask if it could be deleted but if someone could please let me know how to delete the pervious thread I will do that asap.
I'm having a strange problem and was hoping anyone else had any idea what could be causing it.
When the device discharges all the way, it will no longer register that the battery has any charge no matter how charged the battery is and the battery charge % status is always incorrect.
I've used two batteries, both will show that they were charged to 90% after charging, both would very quickly drop to ~45% then stay around there until they drained completely, which would last a few days, and the device turned off without me being aware it was close to dying due the % not changing.
After this, the device will act as if the batteries are almost totally empty no matter how long I charge it, only staying on for about 5 seconds after unplugging it before going to sleep with the "please charge device" screen. Both batteries will fully charge through the device even though it acts as if they're still empty. I checked them both with a multimeter after charging the device with each of them and they are both at max voltage.
Also, after plugging it back in to be able to use it after the "please charge battery" screen the battery shows 0% with no changes no matter how long I leave it.
After it happened with the first battery, I assumed it had an issue and replaced it but the second behaves the exact same way so I don't think its the batteries.
I reinstalled the OS on the memory card, but it didn't seem to help fix it either.
At this point I'm at a loss so if anyone has any advice for how to fix this, it would be really appreciated. Thanks!
