I've found that with quite a few 'specialty' coffees. The name and packaging seem to have been more important than the flavour.
Enjoying a cup of Lapsang Souchong. Sadly, I may not be able to enjoy it much longer. An employee at the tea shop where I picked up my last packet said that they are having issues sourcing it since the growers are switching to Jin Jun Mei black tea which has become very popular in China. Since the smoking stage is not needed and it's considered a high end tea, the growers can make more money.
