amazon doesn't provide initial firmware, presumably because that site is for updates. I doubt it has occurred to them that a corruption problem might be fixed by a re-install and their initial releases are always so buggy that the first update (usually happens pretty quickly. (And early adopters just have to sit on their expensive toy until an update comes out.)
