The Likebook (and probably meebook) are very very slow MTP. I power off and mount the SD card direct and then use the ebook location on the micro SD card as a "device" on Calibre.
Certainly loads of MTP devices disconnect / unmount with long transfers. On fast Android tablets I use Total Commander and SMB plug in over WiFi and it's about 100x faster and more reliable. I have to Share a folder on something. On Android with Pocketbook App I connect to the Calibre Content Server.
I have Likebook and I won't buy another Android eink, or any Kindle MTP ereader because MTP is a pain.
