None of this half-assed swiping nonsense. Just disable the touch screen and then turn the ebook reader off and then back on to reset. (You KNOW, like on my beloved Kindle Oasis.)
For that to work Kobo would first have to make sure their page-turn buttons function 100% of the time.

I still have an issue at least once-a-day on my Sage where the page-turn buttons inexplicably stop working until I manually touch the screen to initiate a page-turn, then the buttons will resume functionality again.

Page-turning via the buttons also seems to have this nasty habit of interpreting one press as several events and progressing two pages or more instead of one, or even getting it stuck into a page-flipping loop until I manually stop it. It's quite frustrating. Hardware buttons should not be less reliable than touch events!
