In any sense more than allowing the retailing? Obviously those five support Google, Apple, Kobo, Barnes & Noble (Nook), Amazon and ebooks.com but not Smashwords.

What does than mean? It can't mean direct on the device as that competes with Kobo shop.
If it means bookshop org uses ADE, then it's not Kobo specific.

Neither of those have been reliable sites for years, especially Engadget, but not as bad as goodereader.
